Find Morgan Traffic Records

A Morgan County traffic ticket starts with the citation in hand, because Morgan County traffic court records live in the case file kept by the clerk or city court that holds the case. Pull up the UTT number or another accepted search field, confirm which court is named, and check the latest court date. Indiana gives you two separate tools. One case system shows the docket, while the payment portal handles money, and they do not always agree. The clerk or city or town court keeps the official record. Paying, deferring, and contesting follow different routes, so read any portal result next to the citation and the court's own instructions.

Traffic Court Records in Morgan County

A traffic ticket in Morgan County becomes a case. That case file is the traffic court record you want. The clerk keeps the official file, built around the citation and its Chronological Case Summary. Inside you can find the case number, the court, the UTT or citation number, the charge, the court date, the event result, and the judgment. Payment entries and document links may appear too.

Two online tools do most of the work. MyCase shows the case register itself. Indiana ePay lets you search for a ticket and, where it is offered, pay online. Be careful with gaps. Not every ticket shows up in ePay, and not every ticket can be paid there.

Where does the case live? A county citation may route to Morgan Circuit or Superior court. Martinsville City Court and Mooresville Town Court keep their own limited records. Check the venue printed on the citation. Or check the case number. Either one tells you which court holds the docket.

Morgan ePay Ticket Search

The official ePay search offers three modes: Ticket Number, Driver's License Number, or Name with Date of Birth.

Morgan County traffic court records Indiana ePay search

Searching by UTT means typing the full identifier with its leading zeroes intact, in the format J0000000. A license search needs the license number. For a name search, supply first name, last name, and a valid birth date in MM/DD/YYYY. Middle name is optional.

Mode Required fields Use
Ticket or UTT Full UTT with leading zeroes Strongest ticket key
Driver’s license License number Alternative when UTT is unknown
Name and DOB First, last, full birth date Fallback identity search

A result can display the court, agency, ticket date, UTT, offenses, balance, payment status, and an Odyssey case number. Take that case number into MyCase and read the CCS.

How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket

Start with the citation itself. It names the issuing agency, the ticket number, the court, and the deadline. Online search is only a convenience. It never extends a response date.

  1. Enter the UTT in ePay, including leading zeroes.
  2. If it fails, try the license or name-and-birth-date mode.
  3. Open the result and confirm the court, agency, offense, date, and payment status.
  4. Use the Odyssey case number in MyCase to inspect the traffic CCS.
  5. Call the named court when the ticket is absent or payment is unavailable.
  6. Request an official or certified disposition from the maintaining clerk when needed.

A ticket can take up to ten business days to post. When it is missing, ePay recommends trying another search mode and points users without license or birth-date data to MyCase. Never let a blank online result push you past the citation deadline.

Morgan Tickets Not Yet Online

If ePay returns nothing, recheck every character and leading zero first. Then search MyCase by citation number or by name. Pick the venue printed on the ticket. City and town choices sit apart from Morgan County in the court dropdown.

Before the response date, call the court named on the ticket. Martinsville City Court answers at 765-342-1259. Mooresville Town Court is 317-831-1330. For county clerk routing, dial 765-205-1548. Have the UTT, issue date, issuing agency, and any known case number ready.

Key point: An absent online ticket can reflect posting time or eligibility. It does not cancel the citation or its court date.

Finding Your Traffic Court Date

Your citation is the first place to look for a court date. After that, MyCase gives the best public electronic update for a Morgan County traffic docket. Open the newest hearing event. Note the date, time, session, reason, location, and result. Then scan the later entries. A reset or cancellation will show there.

UTT or citation The ticket identifier used in ePay and often linked to the case.
Case number Indiana Rule 8 number identifying the court and case type.
Court County, Martinsville City, or Mooresville Town venue.
Setting Date, time, session, reason, and judicial officer.
Result Recorded outcome, cancellation, reset, or other event result.
Payment Displayed balance and status, subject to court confirmation.

For an upcoming appearance, call the court maintaining the case. The Morgan County court calendar resource lists the county court confirmation numbers.

Morgan Traffic Court Venues

Martinsville City Court sits at 59 S. Jefferson Street. It handles city infractions, ordinance violations, and misdemeanors. Its MyCase identifier is 55H01. Mooresville Town Court, found at 26 S. Indiana Street, handles town ordinance violations, infractions, and misdemeanors under 55I01.

A county Circuit or Superior citation uses a 55C01 identifier or one from 55D01 through 55D03. Brooklyn, Monrovia, and Morgantown list no separate court in the current Indiana directory. A town ordinance alone does not mean the town runs its own court. Follow the citation's venue.

Paying or Contesting a Ticket

Paying resolves a payable ticket. Use whatever route the court permits. That act is not a request for a contested hearing. To fight the ticket, follow the appearance or plea instructions on the citation. Call the named court before the deadline. Deferral is a third route, and it requires eligibility and approval.

Choice Action Record effect to verify
Pay Use ePay or the court’s accepted method Confirm receipt and disposition
Contest Follow citation plea or hearing instructions Keep the current setting
Seek deferral Apply to the Morgan prosecutor before paying Follow the approved agreement

Martinsville City Court accepts money order, certified or cashier's check, or cash in person. Personal and business checks are refused. Partial payments are refused too. Its page describes a $25 late fee and allows one extension. Other courts set their own current methods.

Do not miss the date: Online payment failure does not postpone an appearance. Contact the court when a payment or contest option is unclear.

Morgan Traffic Deferral

The official Morgan traffic deferral page publishes local fees and eligibility limits.

Morgan County traffic court records deferral program

The published fees run $252.50 for a twelve-month moving deferral, $192.50 for a six-month moving deferral, $122 for a six-month non-moving deferral, and $23 for a seat-belt matter. Do not pay the ticket first, the page warns. Once approved, an applicant gets instructions and returns the agreement, application, and fee by the stated date.

Limits apply. Applicants must be over eighteen, hold no current commercial driver's license, have no recent OWI conviction, no disqualifying driving felony, no current deferral, no habitual-traffic-violator status, no more than two infractions in the prior twelve months, and no conflicting probation or BMV condition. Confirm current eligibility with the prosecutor.

Morgan Deferral Form Fields

The county’s online deferral application is captured below.

The form asks for charges, name, address, phone, birth date, driver's license, email, UTT, issue date, accident information, electronic signature, and submission date. Fill it all in accurately. Keep the confirmation. Submission is not approval. Do not assume the traffic setting changed until the prosecutor or court sends the agreement and instructions, and keep the citation deadline in view the whole time.

Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record

Two different offices keep two different files here. The Morgan traffic court record lives with the clerk or the named city or town court, which holds the CCS, the citation, hearings, disposition, judgment, payments, and court documents. Your driver history is another matter. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles keeps that one.

File Contents Custodian
Traffic court case Citation, CCS, settings, result, judgment, payment Clerk or local court
Driver history State licensing record Indiana BMV

What ePay shows is case status and a way to pay, nothing more. For anything official, the Morgan County court itself issues a certified disposition or judgment, while a driver history is a separate matter handled by the BMV.

Morgan Unpaid Ticket Chain

The official Indiana court service page describes consequences and payment fallbacks.

When online payment is not an option, call the court. Or use an in-person or mail route it approves. A Department of Revenue notice gives you thirty days and can tack on a ten-percent processing fee. Let a Morgan County traffic docket ticket sit unpaid and the stakes climb. Tax-refund garnishment and BMV suspension are both on the table. Once the balance is paid in full, the court tells BMV.

Check each Morgan County court docket on its own. A portal balance can lag behind a recent transaction. So hold onto your payment receipt until the court record catches up.

Fees and Copies

Ordering a certified copy takes a few specifics. Give the records office that maintains the file the UTT, case number, approximate filing date, and your name. Add the exact document you need, how many copies, and whether you want it certified. That covers judgments, dispositions, sentencing orders, deferral orders, and CCS entries. County records requests work at the Justice Campus counter. Mail, email, and arranged pickup work too.

County copy item Published amount
Plain copy $1.00 per page
Certified copy $3.00 certification plus $1.00 per page
Card service $1.50
Mail payment Check or money order; no cash

Email the county form to records@morgancounty.in.gov. Never send card details that way. Call 765-205-1601 instead with payment information or to arrange pickup. City and town records go through whatever their maintaining court instructs. The Indiana e-filing system is for filing. It is not for public ticket lookup.

The distinction keeps searches, payments, filings, and official copies on their correct routes.

Morgan Traffic Filing Context

The official 2024 ICOR civil-violations chart gives aggregate Morgan context.

Morgan County traffic court records filing activity

Morgan County traffic volume is real. ICOR logged 4,432 new civil-violation matters, a bucket that holds infractions and local ordinances rather than ordinary civil claims. That figure tracks volume only. It cannot tell you the facts, the status, a court date, or the result of any single traffic record. For a Morgan County court docket, match the tool to the job. Use ICOR for trends, and use ePay for ticket and payment eligibility. MyCase covers the CCS. The maintaining court holds the official record.
